Modern rotary compressor and clutch assembly. Compressor mount for the Small Block Chevrolet V8 engine. Suction hose (from compressor to VIR mounted on the evaporator unit at the firewall) +.

Discharge hose (from compressor to top fitting on condenser) +. All the tech support you need! + Hoses supplied with one end open, along with the corresponding fitting and cutting/crimping instructions.

Instructions for both options will be included. FITS EARLY 1977 MODELS ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED WITH A VIR. LATE 1977 MODELS HAD AN ACCUMULATOR/ORIFICE TUBE SETUP. THIS KIT WILL NOT WORK FOR LATE 1977 MODELS.

WHY DO I NEED A VIR ELIMINATOR? The original VIR (valves-in-receiver) Assembly cannot be calibrated to function properly with 134a.

We recommend updating to the VIR Eliminator, which is a modern cycling/orifice accumulator design that General Motors and many other manufacturers use to this day. This will enable you to get the very best vent temperatures for your classic. WHAT DON'T I GET WITH THIS KIT? T he original evaporator core, liquid hoses and condenser will need to be reused or replaced. All used parts must be completely flushed to prevent contamination of newly installed parts.

WHAT ENGINES DO THE COMPRESSOR BRACKETS FIT? This kit is designed for use with the newer 134a refrigerant. Stock Small Block Chevy V8 with a short water pump, compressor mounted on the passenger side (right-hand) of the engine. And factory A/C crank and water pump v-belt pulleys.
