Stop Annoying Shaft Seal Leaks. The original York & Tecumseh compressors have a strong tendency to leak at the shaft seal if the air-conditioning is not used on a regular basis; sometimes in as little as two weeks of non-use! This will not be a problem with the modern rotary compressor. This kit i ncludes the essential parts to convert to 134a.

Our rotary compressor draws significantly less horsepower of stock compressor; approximately 2-4 horsepower compared with 5-10 horsepower from stock. Less horsepower draw means better gas-mileage. The rotary compressor is about half the weight of stock compressor/clutch assembly. Running engine at high RPM? The compressor can handle 6,000 continuous RPM! WHAT DO I GET WITH THIS KIT? WHAT ENGINES DO THE COMPRESSOR BRACKETS FIT? Any stock V8 engine with the original compressor mount, idler and a/c pulleys.

Late 67 289/302 models have a stamped steel idler bracket bolted to the water pump with no part number. Early 67 models have a cast iron "dogleg" bracket, stamped with a Ford part # starting with C7. This kit WILL NOT work on the Early 67 models.

General rule of thumb is if you change your own parts, you can change these parts. It is recommended, however, to have the system evacuated & charged by a professional.

No other specialized tools or knowledge is required for installation of parts. +This kit is designed for use with the newer 134a refrigerant. It is important to make sure the evaporator, condenser and liquid line/hose are either changed or flushed and clean of contamination before installation and charging of the system. Please make sure the engine fits within the guidelines listed above.

Please notify us if your vehicle is modified in any way from it's factory configuration (alternative engine or pulley design, etc). The vehicle's original factory installed compressor mount bracket, idler assembly, factory A/C crank and water pump pulleys will need to be reused.
